Lara Dutta faced an embarrassing situation while shooting a song for Jhoom Barabar Jhoom in Paris.

Lara sports different hairstyles in this Friday’s release ‘JBJ’. One look has her in her natural long hair while another one has her in short hair, for which she wore a wig.

But dancing to foot-tapping songs of ‘JBJ’ while wearing a wig was no easy task. And Lara’s wig actually came off during the shooting of a song with Abhishek Bachchan .

The song was being shot outdoors, right in front of the famous Eiffel Tower. A huge crowd had gathered to see the shooting. It was in front of this crowd Lara had to face embarrassment when her wig came flying off as she swung her neck.

Funnily, the wig flew and landed in Abhishek’s hands, who promptly tried to hide it to save Lara from embarrassment.

But the unitmembers and the public couldn’t help noticing the faux pas. Everyone had a good laugh and Lara took the incident quite sportingly.

‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ is directed by Shaad Ali . Besides Lara and Abhi, the movie also stars Bobby Deol , Preity Zinta and Amitabh Bachchan .

The film hits the theatres on June 15.

Priyanka to lead India Day Parade in New York

Bollywood beauty Priyanka Chopra is set to lead the 27th India Day Parade as Grand Marshal in New York in August to celebrate the country’s 60th Independence Day. The annual parade, which will be held Aug 19, is organised in Manhattan by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) and attracts thousands of people every year. It is considered the biggest such event outside India. Announcing details of the parade at the Indian Consulate here Wednesday, FIA president Shobhana Patel said comedian Johny Lever would be the chief guest. The theme of the parade would be “Women’s Shakti” (power), Patel said. Music composer A.R. Rahman, who is on a concert tour of the US, was present at the function. He was Grand Marshal for the 2006 parade. Known personalities who have participated in the past FIA parades include actresses Madhuri Dixit and Rekha, spiritual guru Morari Bapu, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former mayor Rudy Giuliani. Set up in 1981, FIA is a large, influential umbrella organisation of the Indian community in the US. It boasts of 300,000 members in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The objective of its annual India Day Parade is to project Indian Americans’ progress and unity to other communities

After along time Preity has said yes to two new projects. “Samir Karnik’s Mera Bharat Mahaan is a unique script. It’s an episodic film. I’m with Salman Khan. I always love working with him even if some of our films haven’t worked,” she chuckles. In principle she has said yes to Jhanu Barua’s new Hindi film. But there are issues to be resolved. “To begin with the script was in English. I didn’t want to do it until I saw the Hindi draft. Now I’ve agreed to do it. After Rituparno Ghosh’s Last Lear it’s again a different route for me. But I’m not doing these films to be different. These are challenging roles. And that’s what counts for me.” The dates are yet to be confirmed. And what about Shahji Karun’s film to be produced by Bobby Bedi? “Bobby has barely called me once. It’s not even under discussion let alone negotiation right now. This is as unfounded as the ‘news’ that I was playing Sonia Gandhi. It’s so silly.” Preity has made a decision on her career. “This year I want to do everything different. I’m proud of even the worst films I’ve done. They’ve been a part of my journey. I’ve been at it for nine years. This year I’ve a Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom and a Last Lear side by side. “ Preity is very excited about Ritu’s film on another count. “Though I’ve worked with Mr. Bachchan earlier it was in passing. My character in Armaan was in a coma when he arrived. And in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna I barely had two scenes with him. So this is my first full-fledged film with him.” Sighs Preity, “This year started a sober note for me. My dog who was fine suddenly passed away within a week. But things have brightened up. Thank God, everything is fine now. She cheers up at the mention of the Jhoom word. “With Shaad Ali you don’t feel you’re working. There’s just so much fun on the sets. Maybe it’s because of the kind of film that JBJ was. If I did another kind of film with Shaad maybe the atmosphere would be different. If I did a more serious film I wouldn’t feel the same kind of mast.”
